CALENDAR & SPECIAL EVENTS

CC CAlendar @ Y365

We Heart Yakima! You already know. But did you know our friends at I Heart Yakima created a beautiful, inclusive and user-friendly community events calendar? Whether you’re a community member or a visitor to this city we love so well, you’ll find all the best Yakima and the Valley have to offer at Yakima365.

And since the Y365 calendar is so stellar and helpful, we decided to use our “Events” page as a place to highlight on-going, future and past events that deserve a little extra attention…

Drag me out to the arts: on-going: third fridays

Drag Me Out to the Arts is a monthly Art walk lead by Yakima’s own Viktor Rhee Marche. This free guided tour wanders through art venues and public artworks around downtown Yakima. Wearing hot pink boas, not only do we hope to bring attention to our flourishing downtown art scene, we’re also working to bring acceptance to Art in its many forms and awareness to the power of community inclusion. Please join us the Third Friday of each month, 6 pm!

Sponsored by: Yakima Arts Commission, Heath Heathen Creative, Yakima Maker Space, Yakima Pride and Collaboration Coffee.

get freed: past: August 17, 2019

“Join artists A. S. Pualani, Sandra Aguilar, and Stephanie Hsu for collaborative musical explorations around the theme of getting freed and showing up as their full selves in spaces as musicians of color. Come out to Collaboration Coffee for an evening of music that spans generations and genres, from Bach and Bartok, Spirituals to tangos, Hungary to China. Be a part of the energy created by three local artists who share a passion for music and justice. This is a free community event.”

"… that little concert solidified that I am in the right place & it's safe & okay for me to stay... Being brown and a woman who hangs out in a lot of white spaces, I feel pretty isolated. I found my people that night & am filled with renewed hope & energy to continue to chip away at contributing to our community.” --- inspired concert attendee
